    What is Glamour?
Glamour is the magical energy the fuels all Fae beings and magics.

What can I spend Glamour on?

    • Kith Blessings: a lot of Kiths' powers cost Glamour to use.

    • Activating Tokens: a point of Glamour can be spent instead of rolling your Wyrd to activate a Token (magical artifact)

    • Contracts: All of your Fae spells, your Contracts, generally require at least some Glamour to use. Contracts have Catches, however, and fulfilling the Catch let's you use the Contract without paying any Glamour.

    • Strengthening the Mask: By spending a point of Glamour you can enhance the illusory mask of humanity that surrounds your changeling. Unless overpowered by supernatural powers of perception the changeling will seem almost a perfectly mundane human for the scene. The one exception to the illusion is their shadow which will always betray what they truly look like.

    • Dropping the Mask: Spending a point of Glamour can also completely shatter the Mask for a scene. Maskless changelings treat any use of a Contract as an exceptional success regardless of what they roll. If number of successes matter they pick the highest number out of successes they actually rolled, Mantle, or Wyrd.

This is not without downsides. Temporarily destroying your Mask automatically opens all gateways to the Hedge within 10 meters per dot of Wyrd, and alerts all Huntsmen of the changeling's presence and general location within 100 meters per dot of Wyrd. Mortals who see the initial act of Mask destruction are subjected to the Bewitched condition (perception penalty and nightmarish visions behind the Masks of things). A destroyed mask is automatically rebuilt at the end of a scene or if you gain at least two points of Glamour during the scene and spend one to reinforce the Mask.

    • Entering and Exiting the Hedge: To access the Hedge a changeling first needs some sort of sealable portal they can fit their body through. A door is most common, but many things with lids, gates, and coverings could feasibly work. Next they must spend a point of Glamour and roll a number of dice equal to their Clarity. They can add more dice to this pool at a 1-to-1 ratio by spending more Glamour. Success on this roll means they enter the Hedge (or return to the mortal world depending on where they started) within a mile of their desired destination. Exceptional success lands you exactly where you wanted to go. Failure puts you somewhere totally random, Exceptional Failure puts you in the direct attention of a Huntsman.

    • Embracing the Wyrd: By spending a point of Glamour and Willpower a changeling can Embrace the Wyrd. Embracing creates a surreal, dream-like outpouring of power visible even to the human eye. Most mundane humans who witness the action struggle to remember it as anything but a very strange and strong dream. Each turn the changeling gains a pool of extra dice equal to their Wyrd. This pool can be applied to any actions they're currently taking, to their Resistance traits, or directly increasing their Defense. The pool cannot cumulate over their Wyrd score, but it can be split among multiple uses if numbers allow. They can spend additional Glamour to gain extra dice for a round at a 1-to-1 ratio. Finally a changeling can add their Wyrd to their Speed for the power's duration. Embracing lasts a scene by default or until willfully ended.

This, like Dropping the Mask, has downsides. The act of Embracing the Wyrd is a Breaking Point Trigger. Additionally any Breaking Point rolls made while using the power, the first one included, suffer a penalty of half their Wyrd rounded up.

    • Inciting Bedlam: You can't do this yet so I won't bother putting the details here. Essentially it is imposing a chosen emotion simultaneously on groups of people.

    • Pledgecrafting: Magically Sealing a promise made by a human, willing changeling, or a Huntsman costs a point of Glamour. Similarly swearing an Oath to another changeling costs a point of Glamour.

    How do I regain Glamour?

    • Evoking an Emotion: Whenever a changeling performs an action with the sole purpose of inducing an emotional response, the stronger the better, in a mundane human they can attempt to harvest the emotion for Glamour. Each success made on the action's roll equates to one point of Glamour gained. If the emotion lines up with their affiliated Court's emotion they gain an extra point. A single person can only be harvested from once in a scene. A Harvested person loses one Willpower point to represent the drop in emotional intensity.

    •  Reaping: Harvesting is gently feeding on emotions. Reaping is tearing them away and leaving a drained husk. Reaping is generally done with no roll required, it automatically succeeds, the process costing one dot of Clarity to perform. The victim loses a point of Willpower per level of Wyrd of the Reaping changeling as well as the Reticent condition (an emotional fugue state). The changeling gets their entire Glamour pool instantly refilled. The Reticent condition looks like severe lethargy, but if someone aware of the phenomenon makes a successful Wits + Occult roll they can recognize it for what it is.

    • Dreams: To harvest Glamour from dreams you first need to get into someone's dreams. You can find and enter dreams through the Hedge, Contracts, or other magics. You then must navigate the dream to find it's particular "font" of Glamour, generally through a Composure + Wits + Wyrd roll, though many variations can exist. Successes give Glamour points on a 1-to-1 basis. You can try to change the dream to become the focus of it, though this may rush the process and incur penalties, but rewards Successes with Glamour on a 1-to-2 basis instead.

    • Bargains: If you arrange with a mortal that you are paid with Glamour for your end of a Bargain you can gain it back through fulfilling your side of the deal.

    • Hedge Harvest: Consuming certain Goblin Fruits or finding certain "watering holes" in the Hedge can restore your Glamour, though there's a host of other dangers that accompany these as well.

Are there reasons I shouldn't spend Glamour?

You can spend as much or as little as you like, but an important warning for you; it is dangerous to completely tap out on Glamour. If you have 0 Glamour for longer than your Resolve rating in days you gain the Deprived condition. This condition removes one die from any dice pools that use Resolve, Stamina, or Composure. In addition to these symptoms of addiction withdrawal the body cannot gain physical sustenance from food, taking a point of unmitigatable, unhealable Lethal Damage until they have at least 1 point of Glamour.

    Be very careful about this.
